The Mermaid of Warsaw (Syrenka) protects the city from all its enemies. There are many myths about the Mermaid but two things are for sure - She is the spirit of the city and has survived numerous occupations and invasions. The Nazis destroyed numerous statues in the city but never perceived the importance of the famous mermaid so ignored the numerous statues of her located throughout Warsaw. The Russians also failed to grasp her importance and never bothered to destroy her.

The mermaid is always depicted nude. She always holds a sword in her right arm and has shield on her left arm. She is always drawn facing left with her tail turned toward the right.

I did the artwork based off an old sketch I found of the mermaid. From there I turned the hard work over to Scrimshander, H. Brad O'Brien. The Rough Rider Rigger knife seemed like the perfect choice. The white bone handle on a sailing knife just screamed "carve me."
